Dragging my heart 'round the city
trying to wear my body down
looking for an escape route
from this hollowness you left behind
I find myself following your trail
your laughter leading the way
our memories making up the path, but
on a dead end I find myself, alas!
Leaving me no choice, I turn back around
thinking, "You chose to go back in time...
...but it's okay" and made up my mind -
the next train back home leaves at nine.
(Yeah. Yeah. I'm a day late. I just completed this a few moments ago but I jotted down some of those lines yesterday. Does this still count for my napowrimo challenge? Hmm. Also, the end result is a bit different from how I "envisioned" it at first, and I feel awkward about this, but oh well. I like the last line though. I wish there really is a train I can take that'll take me back home in a jiffy. *lesigh*)
