What a freaking Christmas!!!
Wow! I had the most amazing christmas!!!
We exchanged presents with my new roommate and her boyfriend and our friends there on Friday night. I recieved from my roommate - a toy kitty that is grey with blue eyes and it giggles, a teal zebra striped shirt, a blindfold (inside joke), and an i <3 bjs kit (inside joke because we got her and her boyfriend i <3 bjs tshirts for his birthday). I recieved a pink and black zebra cell phone cover from our friend Kate and our friend Michael got me a tshirt that said Orange Crush (the soda)... because I drink a lot of orange soda when I'm up there.
First off... I got an ipod speaker thingie that lights up to the best of the music (which is what I asked for). My aunt tina gave me $100 ($60 of which is going towards a memory foam mattress topper... which I hope is on sale hahah) My aunt sue gave me another $100 and a creepy looking zebra statue thingie. haha. My cousin forgot his cards at his apartment, so I may have like $40 from him.
From my best friends family... I recieved... a $25 gift card to tops, a cute maroon sweater and camisole and a zebra blanket (for my new apt!!!). I also got my Thanksgiving gift that I didn't recieve a few weeks ago, which was a little angel statue, a pair of socks, and a snowman soap dispenser thingie. My best friend and her husband got me comfy warm pj pants, some hot cocoa, and some slippers! And my best friends sister got me a game that looks super fun called "In a pickle" and a perpetual calendar that is black and pink with zebra stripes.
So my family was going away to Texas to see my cousin and his wife (they are expecting in Feb!) and they were leaving christmas day. I was going to be alone! A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I were chatting on the phone (and this was before he was my boyfriend) and he had told me that he was speaking to his mother and had told her how my family was going away (for a quick back story so my family doesn't seem horrible... they booked the tickets long ago when I was still in another relationship and it was assumed I would be with him and his family on christmas day). Well, she so kindly invited me down to spend christmas with them. (his home is 5 hours away). We tried to figure all these things about but he would be driving home on christmas eve and that is when we do our things so that was not going to work.
We looked online at flights on christmas day... found a couple cheap ones but from buffalo. I thought to look from rochester and found a pretty cheap one from Rochester to Baltimore (an hour from where he lives) for $49. Not bad. He said he would buy it for me. He wanted to wait to email his mother to tell her first because of what time he would have to pick me up on christmas day. Right before we were going to bed, he got an email from airtran (that's what he always flies when he goes home and doesn't drive) for $25 off a ticket. We weren't sure if it was going to work because the $49 was a web special. But it did and he got my plane ticket for $34!!! how exciting!
I got vacation time at work and since I am trying to find a job in rochester I took the vacation time cause who knows when I'll be leaving so I might as well use it. Then he got the rest of the week off at his job (we were originally going to come back on wednesday). How exciting. A little mini vacation!
I arrived here yesterday so nervous to meet a whirlwind of people and I don't think it could of gone any better. His mother is the sweetest person ever! And their house is gorgeous! His bedroom is insane!! I shall post pictures of that later! After meeting his mother and her fiance Alan we headed over to his fathers open house. We brought him his gift of grapples (apples that have grape flavor infused into them. his father loves them and can't get them around here in pa). Had a ton of food there and met some more of Michael's family.
We exchanged gifts with his father and his fathers gf and they got me a anti bacterial (sun ripened rasberry) hand soap from bath and body works!... and a $50 giftcard to applebee's... $50!!!!!!!!! I was so surprised! woah!!!!
His dad's gf has a dog. A scottish terrier. She was cute. I had to take a picture!
After that we headed over to his aunts house (after putting in the wrong information on his new GPS that he got from his step dad, and getting lost.. finally putting in the right address and arriving at our destination with some little kids who were dying to open their presents) When we arrived downstairs I could not believe that I had quite a few presents downstairs, I was very surprised. They only knew I was coming for like, 2 weeks, if that. I was also excited because now Mike and I were finally able to exchange our presents! Now, here is the insane things I recieved!...
This is a sweater that Michael's mom got me. Not really my style and she told me that I could return/exchange it if I'd like. I think that's rude to do, but Michael says it's not if the person told you that you could. hmm.
Michael's aunt got me these socks. The red ones on the far right are sooooooooo comfortable!! I love socks and I always need em! Specially fancy ones!
Mike got me this little teddy bear that is dressed up like a penguin! So cute! He had a piece of paper rolled up in the penguin and it was my flight itinerary because he paid for it, so that was sort of a gift. Very cute.
One of Mike's other aunts gave me a bath and body works body butter. Moonlight Path. Smells really good!
His mother got me a $25 gift card to Delia's. Because she didn't know what I would like from there.
His mother also got me this lip gloss set! tons of lip gloss!
She also got me this magnetic notepad that is totally going on my fridge at my new apartment with Lindsay!
His grandfather and his wife got me this big candle that smells really pretty. After I opened it and thanked them, his wife was like "look at the name on it!" I think they thought it was so cute, but the name of the candle is "mad love". hehe.
Mike was all about putting things into bigger boxes, haha.. This is two $10 gift certificates/cards, one is for Tim Hortons and the other is for Sheetz (this awesome gas station in PA that we are totally going to!)
Mike also got me three of my favorite candies! Take 5, m & m's, and kit kat! yum!
This is a $10 gift card to starbucks. OH man. so cute. They just gave him that little giftcard holder. So basically I will have free morning breakfast on the way to work for like 3 days :) With my Timmy Ho's and Starbucks!
Mike's mom ALSO got me a hat and scarf from delias. They are beautiful! Although I'm still not 100% sure on how to wear the hat... it's like an oversize beret! Mike told me that his mother ordered it over the phone and didn't know what to get me (because apparently what she was going to get me was sold out)... and the girl on the phone was really nice so she told her how old I was etc, and the girl on the phone suggested the hat and scarf! haha! (I look really mad here and I don't know why, but ignore that... focus on the scarf and hat!!)
And last but not least, the final gift from Mike... the surprise gift. I was all pumped cause Fall Out Boy was doing a small tour... and they were coming to Toronto. I've always seen them when they come close but I couldn't afford to get two tickets and then it sold out. Well my sneaky little boyfriend went and got two tickets before it sold out! I almost cried I was so surprised and excited. I can not wait for Jan 12th!
