I just took a full-time position at the Foundation doing the Overnight awake shift aka the graveyard shift. I take the 7pm bus to another bus stop and take that bus to a road. The road leads into the black mountains of the night, that are shaded that yellow streetlight color in areas that make the trek up the road look like an alien sidewalk into hell. But during the day, it's absolutely picturesque. I get off work (9pm-7am) and walk back down the hill to the bus stop and make my way home. I finally get home at 830am and have to make my body shut down through the sunny Kailua days. The sickest part of my day is realizing I have less than 12 hours at home to sleep, do daily life type shit like pay bills and do laundry and clean room and house and social shit like go beach and keep in contact with people then I go back to the lonely, empty nights. Ugh.
But today, I am going to look at all this as if I'm a person with nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'm still relatively young, I have a strong body and mind, and I need to take this time to just work my ass off and save and keep on going.
Living in Hawaii for another whole year may be in the books. I moved here August 11th and I told everyone I'd only be in Hawaii for a year but life steers you in a whole buncha different directions and it really comes down to whether or not these paths are best for you or not. Staying in Hawaii for at least another 6 months is the best thing for me so let's see what happens.
