I *FINALLY* have a desk in my room~~~~~~~~ AND the good news doesn't end there, I also have a drawer to put my clothes away-- "no more" suitcases for me. And you know, it only took 6 months XD
And, the good news doesn't stop there, I also got a heater/radiator this week. Can we finally say progress? ((How sad that even with all this my room still isn't considered done?)) I haven't actually used the desk yet since I have a bunch of crap on it (already DX) that I haven't figured out where to put it (before the arrival of the desk it was all on neat piles on the floor). Also since I only have 1 working plug- on the other side- of the room I have to plan to use my desk when my computer is at full capacity. Alas I'm excited for the potential this holds for photo editing, and possibly writing, even if its just blogging.
I feel I can finally stop feeling like an outcast refugee and like a real inhabitant of this house. I don't really want to get into the specifics of why it took so long, and its partly my fault for never actually speaking up and saying anything (until this past Saturday when I mentioned the lack of heat in my room which in turn spurned a whole movement of partially assembled furniture being whisked into appearance).
I'm here since its Thursday (2 for 2!), but it might have to be a short post since tomorrow I have to get up early and run errands with Sarah (who is visiting us in Bröthen) this week before I have to drop her off at the train station so she can head back to Hamburg to await the arrival of her boyfriend tomorrow (then the two of them are going to Munich and Berlin).
I hope tomorrow or Saturday (probably Saturday) I have time to really put this room in order, I have pictures and postcards, etc that I brought with me from home to hang up and decorate my room since the last time I didn't have anything to work with (I did end up making wall collages with old ticket stubs and museum brochures in Berlin), however now that I'm 6 months in the point almost feels moot since my contract is technically over in 2 months. I'm not going home in 2 months, but I could at that point if I wanted to.
In reality I don't know when I am going to head back to the states (for all you inquisitive folk) but it should be sometime between April and June. It partially depends on my brother and if he graduates this spring (pending on class availability) if he does walk in May then I have to be home for that since I missed his high school graduation since I was in Chile and promised him I'd be there for his College graduation. If he doesn't walk in May then I can stay in Germany until June with my visa and then afterwards travel until I run out of funds and must return home with heavier suitcases and lighter pockets.
I realized my last (two?) post (posts?) read and sounded very rushed and reading them aloud myself I realized that- sorry! I was just to determined to get my thoughts out that sentence structure fell to the wayside. I really want to work on keeping my writing sharp, developing more since I want to really start writing on a regular basis (possibly for blogs?) and maybe generating an income from it-even if I don't get money I have decided being published in whatever form is something I am going to actively strive for.
Hurrah.
