Christmas roundup

Yay for Christmas.  This year I gave one sister The Devil Wears Prada.  I gave the other Final Fantasy XII.  My mom and dad recieved Purdue coffee cups and thermoses.  Suz hasn't gotten her gift yet, so I won't say.

I got an Xbox 360, some movies, a giant bottle of A1 Steak Sauce, and a book.

So Gerald Ford is dead.  He was made President after Nixon resigned over the mess he'd made for himself.  His decision to pardon Nixon won terrible criticism at the time, but it now regarded as a good decision for the country as a whole.

He was also the last president to see Vietnam, a war that lasted 11 years and cost around 57,000 American soldiers their lives.  A war you might say is happening again... if you have no respect for written history.

He can also be remembered for the fact that he has stuck by the tradition to not criticize future administrations.  And seeing as how he was succeeded by Jimmy Carter, he is a man of incredible restraint.

Iconic figures tend to die in groups.  James Brown recently left this earth, no president Ford.  Who's next?  My bet is on Fidel Castro, but I'm hoping for Jimmy Carter.... actually both.
