So the results are in from my mouse trap project.
When a mousetrap springs, it lands with a peak force of 8 lbs. However, this force is over a thin copper wire and onto a mouse's head. So by dividing the force by the area gives a maximum pressure of 173 pounds per square inch. This is comparable to a major league baseball player hitting you in the back of the neck with a metal bat.
