(Not you two)...I agree Bush is SEEMING to be very smart about the whole withdrawal process. I only momentarily agreed with Murtha's idea that we should pull the troops out immediately, but I have to say, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it would have made our entire war and all those losses in vain to pull out now and let Iraq fall back to the old ways. We're in there, and we need to finish it. It's good to see some sort of exit strategy.
What helps is knowing that a fair number of soldiers (at least, this is what I assume, based on the reports I've heard from some) agree that they will stay there as long as they need to, in order to complete their objective of democracy and stability in Iraq. I'm glad the US isn't just pulling out, and is actually trying to stick it out and finish the job. By some accounts, we've made a solid difference in some of the lives out there. But there's two sides to every story, and I still don't know if I can conscionably say I'm glad we went. Especially under the veil of so many lies and so much misinformation. But, perhaps that's what Americans respond to best.
