A Happy Sock Story
Over the past couple weeks I had accumulated 3 socks that had lost their mates somewhere in the laundry process: a black dress sock, a white sports sock with gray toe, and a plain white sock. After a few weeks of laundry, I thought about throwing them out because they didn't have matches. But I didn't. I just left them in the laundry room. Well tonight I was changing into pjs and I reached into the panty drawer, but instead of panties, I pulled out a single white sock! I ran to the laundry room and found the matching sock and rolled them up. It motivated me to look for the other two socks' mates. I dug around the panty drawer a little more and found a black dress sock mingling with the black panties. I did a little happy dance and put those two socks together and put them in the appropriate drawer. After searching a little more, I did not find the white sock with the gray toe, but I decided to put the extra one in the back of the sock drawer for safe-keeping (after all you never know when you'll need a single sock for a sock puppet or something). When I reached to the back, I noticed another white sock with a gray toe. I found all the matches to my socks! It made me very happy.
