Once had that heart
made a
half-hearted attempt
to hold on to it
and now they're
throwing them at me
a hail storm
of nautiluses
bead showered
at Mardi Gras
for boob showin'
and I don't want none
they're all junk
pretty and shiny
fragile and fake
losing luster quickly
when the parade floats away
I stay up in the shadows
scribbling love songs
on trash
singing to stray dogs
sleeping it off
inverted tear drop
half hearted man
writes again
a pome about love
but he don't want it back
let it soar
let it fly
let the balloon string slip
so a dolphin can choke
while it gets off
auto-ero-asphyx
underwater
the sound
a man makes as he drowns
is similar
to the sound that he makes
when he swims
in the shower
the closet
the Chevy
the Ford
the kitchen
the staircase
the counter
the floor
take me down
take me now
let's go one more round
I've been fueled by
fast food
left behind by the crowd
leave your litter
I'll feast
some decrepit young beast
half-hearing wonder
living in piece
or in part
at peace in him
parts
signing to blind folk
with songs for the deaf
my heart feels fine
broken
But, I could use
help with this head
