I figured out the line up of pieces I want o include in my installation for the show today. Unfortunately I knocked one over and broke it into a thousand during the process of taking pictures...Shit. I was really mad for about 15 minutes but then I got over it. I have two kilns for three days this next weekend. Hopefully I will be able to re-fabricate it durning that time just before I have to install it. It was a piece composed of scissors trapped in a melted glass vase. I consider it to be one of the pivotal moments in the composition. But because I have to try to recreate it I am going to get six scissors and use the extra scissors for another piece that will not be in the show.
Tuesday I am going to visit a foundry called Western Supply (http://www.westsupplyco.com/offerings.html). My friend Ben is the manager their. They have started do more glass work and I am really hoping I will be able to work there after school. It would be really great to learn about working with glass in an industrial setting.
