SpaceA, for those not in the military-know, is Space Available on military planes. Active, Reserves & retirees can jump on military flights to anywhere they go (pending on space & missions).

Above:
The first pic is not mine. The Chief Engineer of the plane gave it to me.
As a Category III, I was on the first flight smokin' to Yokota AFB.
No wait-time for this flight. The only thing that was bad at Travis AFB was the long-term parking.
It's a 1.7 mile hike from parking to the passenger terminal. Couldn't leave my luggage unattended at the terminal, so it was on my back for the hike. No shuttle to and hitchhiking is illegal on base, so it was a beautiful beginning for my trip.
10 hour flight on a KC-10 Refueler (pictured above), straight to Japan. It's noisy, if you got a laptop or mp3 player, you have to get earphones that cover the entire ear. It's chilly, so bring a light jacket.
No electrical outlets on the plane for the laptop, after an hour &-a-half on the flight, my battery died.
Good thing I brought a book.
A KC-10 is a giant flying gas tank, so sneaking a smoke is a no-no. I noticed that as soon as the plane's door closed, the flight crew popped out the nicotine gum.
