It's been Tim's turn to be under the weather this week.
It started with a running nose ,sneezing and coughing. And sleep - wow, just call him Rip Van Winkle! We put it down to allergy season. (It is, and he's had allergies for many years.) There are a bazillion trees surrounding our house, dropping their pollen.
After a couple of days of getting worse Tim was able to get a phone appointment with the Dr. Do all of the doctors conduct business these days at the end of a phone and computer? I can't blame them for their ongoing Fear Of Infection from Covid but I continue to be a bit of a skeptic that phone is totally adequate for a diagnosis. In Tim's case, how would the Doc.listen to his chest and lungs? Surely that's one of the first things done with chest problems? Tim is up to date with all his Covid shots.
Long story short - Tim quickly got a diagnosis. 'It's Bronchitis or Pneumonia.' Yikes! Luckily Tim has had a Pneumonia Shot. The Doc quickly ordered antibiotics and cough medicine for Tim with instructions to go to the ER if he got worse and that was that. The cough medicine which was ordered is not being manufactured any longer. *Ang rolls her eyes* The antibiotic was well known and has been very efficient. Tim was also sent for a test to see if he had you-know-what. (He doesn't).
It's taking a while but Tim is doing well and making progress.
He's thinking of going to an urgent care place for another opinion.
We shall see.
