And once again real life intervenes

Eeek, so much for me being better at updating... looks like it's back to the old bullet points for this one.

* No word back from my part time lecturing job, but that's because the uni haven't told the Games department how many people they can take on.

* After working for the General Teaching Council (including the day the government announced that as of September they would no longer exist), I've done odd days at weird places. A building contractor (who, I have since found out, hold the tender for the New Street station rebuild), another night at Whitewall gallery (which nearly killed me, as I'd been at another job in the daytime); but the most interesting one is the one I'm currently in. I'm currently working for a sub-contractor of the UK Border Agency- so basically, I'm working for the Home Office.

* My HD camera has had much use! We have three (I think it's three now?) videos pretty much ready to go, and about fifteen either fully scripted or almost done. Teaser trailer is up on Youtube, website is forthcoming, name is Rogue Tactics

* Games journalism stuff is going good! Third article got published on RoboAwesome on Thursday, a review of Split/Second:Velocity. I got a pre-order copy of Naughty Bear a day early too, so if I can get through a couple more levels tomorrow I'm hoping to start writing up another review of that

* Still planning on emigrating, but starting to lean more towards Canada or the States (specifically Seattle, there is quite a lot of opportunity there).

* Speaking of the States, I am REALLY looking into the possibility of me being able to go over there for PAX at the start of September. I can afford the weekend tickets and the accomodation (if I stay in the hostels), but it's the flights that need some more work. Also, it would be a huge chunk of my 'save for uni' money... but I *really* want to go! Live life to the full, right?

* Geek overload recently too. Between gaming, drawing and the people I've been talking to, it has been well-defined that I am now (and probably have always been) a real-life geek. And proud, I have to say. I grew up on a diet of sci-fi and vampire films, I pretend to be other people in my spare time (voice acting. Nothing more sinister) and am planning to make a living out of making fantasies.

Hopefully I'll remember to update this a bit more....
