"You can do anything you want/Because darling, it's your life "

Can't listen to this song (Don't Go Back To Dalston by Razorlight) without picturing myself walking from Euston station to the George Hotel in London. I wasn't even listening to my MP3 player when I made that walk!

Today has been a day of solving problems. Part of the union website is having problems- and annoyingly, it's the part I need to finish doing a job for Kate. Hate leaving jobs things half-finished. The two of the network drives went down; again, JUST as I needed to access them for work! And then Stoke phoned over to say they'd received the stationery order from Bomfords. But had also ended up with the Stafford order too! The people at Bomfords are really cheery and helpful, so I was more than happy to phone them and alert them to the problem. The Stafford order should be on its way to me right now, actually.

I didn't get paid today, which means next week is going to be a careful week for me. I know my landlord will be coming round for rent, probably on Tuesday (stupid thing is, on the phone he said 'at the weekend', and I stupidly agreed forgetting that I'd be at V both days. And if they come on Monday I won't be there either, as I'm going back to Birmingham for a day in town with mom and the Lostprophets gig at the Academy on the night).

That's a point...now I know that a trip to visit my grandparents is a no-go because they're busy, me and mom can discuss our next London trip...She's willing to stay in a hostel this time! :D Cheaper and more fun, in my opinion. So long as she gets a bottom bunk; my mom and ladders (especially ones like were on the bunks at The Clink) do not get on at all. I was happy to scramble up to the top bunk, even if getting down was a little daunting!

And HOORAY for having company this weekend! I both love and loathe the fact I've moved back to Stafford. Love because I'm actually near where I study and work, so I can just ride my bike to uni, town, train station, wherever. Loathe because until end of August/start of September there is no-one I know around who I can just drop in and see.

Also, been having a number of thoughts about the future...to do my masters or to not to my masters? I do like the sound of the masters here, and there is a chance of doing some assistant lecturing. But it's another year studying games design, an area I doubt I will ever be good enough to work in unless it's audio or writing. My ideal scenario is to work in some aspect of media down in London, and I'm finding out the best people to talk to about the scene down there and what I could do.
I love working with blue/green screen, motion capture, compositing live-action with 3D stuff- and of course my audio work. I'm teaching myself Adobe Audition, and if I can will be learning Cubase and any other audio software I can get a copy of. I also need to learn Premiere and After Effects, when I get the software (or can spend time in the labs at uni playing with it).

I have a year to decide (slightly less)...but it's still not that long.
