Rules and Requirements

GENERAL

1. All stories must portray one or more SPN characters as asexual/gray-a/demisexual.

2. Stories and artwork may be of any rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 and the equivalents) as long as all explicit adult content is tagged and handled appropriately.

3. All stories and artwork must be new (no old content, and no WIPs unless they have never been posted/shown publicly) and complete at the time of posting.

4. Completed stories and artwork should not be posted/shown to anyone other than the respective author/artist and beta readers before the official posting date. Teasers may be posted, but they should be as small/short as possible.

5. Content may be posted anywhere - tumblr, LJ, AO3, dA, etc. - as long as it is open to the public as of the official posting date (in other words, no locked journals or password-protected blogs). When it comes time to post, this site will be accepting submissions if you would rather post your story/artwork here directly.

6. You do not need a tumblr or LJ to participate in the bang, though having one or both will be helpful. However, you will need an email account in order to sign up and stay in contact with us.

7. Communicate! Stay in communication with your author/artist, and stay in communication with us. Ideally you will be able to meet all of your deadlines but if issues arise do not hesitate to let us know.

AUTHORS

1. Stories may be gen, het, slash, etc. and can include any pairing(s) including threesomes/moresomes - the only requirement is that at least one main character of the story is portrayed as identifying somewhere on the asexuality spectrum.

2. All genres are welcome. Alternate Universe (AU) stories are also allowed.

3. Stories must be a minimum of 5,000 words; however, there is no maximum limit and longer pieces are certainly encouraged!

4. Stories may be co-authored. Co-authored stories must be a minimum of 7,000 words.

5. Authors may only sign up to write one story. However, it is allowed to sign up as both an author and an artist, as long as you do not create art for your own story.

6. Authors are required to have betas. While there will be beta sign ups, you will be in charge of finding/contacting your beta - we will assist with finding betas only if you are unable to find one on your own.

ARTISTS

1. Must create at least one piece of art for your chosen story; this could be a video, a podfic, a fanmix, digital art, a sketch, a drawing, a painting, or a photo-manipulation.

2. Small items such as icons and spacers will not count as an artist’s main piece of art, but otherwise there is no minimum artwork size. What matters the most is the amount of time, care, and effort you put into your piece.

3. Claims will work on a first come first serve basis.

4. Depending on how many artists sign up for the bang, it may be possible for artists to claim more than one story. If this occurs, you will be notified about additional sign ups.

BETAS

1. Thank you for being willing to put in the time and effort to helping authors/artists make their fics/art the best they can be; you’re awesome!

2. There’s no one way to be a beta, though it is generally expected that betas will check over stories and sometimes be sounding boards for authors/artists to bounce ideas off of.

3. You will have the option of specifying what kind of content you are comfortable with beta’ing (regarding pairings, ratings, warnings, kinks, etc.). While being a beta is a commitment, you are not required to beta for a story containing content that makes you uncomfortable.

PINCH HITTERS

1. Again, we appreciate you! Thanks for being willing to help out.

2. Signing up as a pinch hitter is not a commitment, but it means that you may be asked if you are willing to fill a writing/art prompt if an author/artist drops out.

3. Authors and/or artists can sign up as pinch hitters, as can those who are not otherwise participating in the bang.
