It's not a stupid idea. Okay, it might be, but it's a stupid idea that's important to him understanding a different time and culture, which is important to him understanding me. It's his job to help me graduate and one he takes very seriously and I don't want to deprive him of any opportunities to help me for his sake as much as for mine.

He won't be hurt if I can get him someone better. It's one date, no commitments. Really think about it, Jane. Regardless of what you think of me, I'm pretty sure you like George enough not to want to see him heartbroken. You told me to stop him from getting hurt and now I'm asking the same thing from you.

It's just the opposite, actually, but first thing's first, Jane. I have to make sure that you're going to remember me before I can show you how I'm worth every minute of your time. I already know you're worth my time. All of it. As much as it takes until you realize we would actually make pretty good friends.

That's not true. We both like Eddie. You probably share a dislike of Swatchmen and I'd guess there's some place you've always wanted to visit that you've never been able to. There might be some foods we both like, but more than not, there will be parts of foods one of us likes that the other doesn't that means they'll be perfect for sharing.

Have dinner with me and I'll prove it.
