What is the law? No spill blood.

Alright, since I'm thinking about it and aI have a few minutes at work I'm going to post a few Africa pictures. Just some of the shiny wildlife. Or furry wildlife, as the case may be.  After I came back I spent all of July 4th editing pictures and making CDs. When it was all done I'd taken about 1000 pictures and saved around 700. The ones I'm posting were some I snagged off of my Facebook account, for accessability. I've got some better ones lingering around that I may flash later.

Where can you see Racket Tailed Rollers? Only in Makuleke...

Behind the cut.

This is the guy that wandered through camp. There's a very unflattering shot of me floating around somewhere coming out of my cabin while he's eating a tree in the background.

The two towers...

Not exactly a deer in the road...

White Fronted Bee Eaters. Taken especially for

Awwww so purty. Pretty much every evening looked like this.

And we drove around in Land Rovers singing songs from The Lion King. Because... well yeah.

Alright, now that's out of the way.

I had to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor tomorrow to have my bones cracked. Because my neck is going to drive me crazy. I don't know if it's my crappy (but tremendously comfy) bed, my (eight or nine) pillows, or the shoes I've been wearing. I'm banking on the first two, though. Eleven am appointment on Saturday, then checking on a friends dog while she's in Florida for the 'big game', then helping my friend Shannon pack for her move to Wyoming (Wyoming? Eesh). I have a nice long appointment scheduled with my couch, my cat, and a glass of mint tea tonight after I get home from work and take out the trash.

How exciting!

Recently I found myself peering at a few collected comic books/graphic novels. Particularly works by Greg Rucka. I really like his writing style, particularly in 'Queen and Country' and 'Whiteout'. Whiteout is actually being shot as a movie right now starin Kate Beckinsale... we'll see how that goes, though it's an interesting premise (A murder takes place in Antarctica right before long winter). I've found myself mindlessly devouring fiction paperbacks recently. Because they're fast reads and last the span of my attention for them. I put away both Queen and Country novels, and a Jeffrey Archer novel (False Impressions) this week.

I think after reading the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy (heavy stuff for the young adult audience it's geared for) I needed a lot of stuff that didn't make my brain cramp or squick too much. Actually, has anyone else read the His Dark Materials trilogy? I'm interested in other peoples opinions of them. I really did like the books, but there were some uncomfortably, inexcuseable things that really just didn't sit right with me and I want to see if anyone else feels the same way, or if I'd missed something.

Also, since my DVD player is dead and I've been forced to watch my four VHS tapes endlessly for two weeks, I've realized there are a lot of bizarre timeline inconsistencies in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Oh, and Tom McRae's newest album King of Cards was completely worth the runaround I had to undergo to get it for less than $40. Actually, all of his albums are. If anyone wants examples, check out YouTube (there are some fan videos using his songs) or let me know. If you like them, he has four albums out, three of which are out of print but I found copies for cheap on Amazon - used.

Uhm... That is all.
