It's a cat. I am looking after her, only for the next few days (until Tuesday, I hope). Her name is Samba, and she is a sweet plump tabby with mostly grey tabby coloring and a white fur front. This could be a good test to see how a cat would function in my boring-window apartment. Fortunately, with my window A/C unit out of my bedroom window, and with the higher temperatures (overall), I can let her sit on the sill there. But there's no action there in the courtyard, unless you count Tuesdays/trash day, I guess, when my Chinese landlord's daughter collects the trash. I took a good look at my wooden fence, and I think a cat's head wouldn't fit through the slots. Therefore, a cat could go outside and I wouldn't need to worry about it. That's good, then... 50 ways to keep a cat occupied.
Samba is rather talkative. I noticed when I meow back to her, she will usually come over. Interesting. I also need to cover the opening in the closet downstairs at the bottom of the steps. I wish I had done that before she came over, as she already went in there once.
Anyway, I was planning to head outside today, but I think I need to stay here at least until 4 to keep her company, then head right back in.
