My father's main artery was clogged 98%. He could've died any day, but they detected it in time (I suppose). They performed an angioplasty and removed the blockage. This was in January and since then, he's been doing the healthy thing by eating right and exercising every so often. I decided then, that I should do the same because I was getting fat and I just wasn't satisfied with my self-esteem.
So I joined a gym to get my fat ass in check. Weight training 5x a week, cardio 3x week, drink about a gallon of water/day, take the recommended intake of protein for active individuals, quit smoking after wearing the patch for 4 days (give or take 1 or 2 cigs when i was drunk), gave up drinking anything but water or alcohol for lent - which somewhat continues on today, etc. etc. etc. I started out in the end of January weighing in at 204 and as of today I'm at 176. Not so bad, but it could be better.
I guess in the last month or so, I've let loose a little. Stopped pushing myself to get that last rep in, stopped trying to get that last burst in HIIT cardio. I gotta get myself back in the groove.
Anyway, I need to eat healthier, that's 50% of the fight. The tuna can, protein, and apple diet is so damn boring, I get sleepy eating it. So all you healthy fools out there..... What do you eat?
And does anybody know why eating chili is supposedly good for you? I ate some today, it was pretty damn good, which makes me think that it's not so good to eat all the time. Okay meatheads, start replying.
