Some rambling, and Youtube channel update as well.

I'm back from a one week long holiday trip with my family at the Atlantic shore. That was a nice trip, I had much fun there. :o)

I've taken with me some GBA and DS games during that trip, namely : Pokémon Emerald, Final Fight One, Fire Emblem : Fuuin no Tsurugi, Phoenix Wright : Justice For All, Bust-A-Move DS, and Trauma Center. Well, I've played a bit of all of them except for Fuuin no Tsurugi (blame the stupid Chapter 14 and its Fog of War/Desert Combo of Death, I wasn't in the mood for playing it) on the way and back, and during the evenings as well.

Well, I've beaten Case 1 and Case 2 of Justice For All, and several chapters of Trauma Center (currently at Chapter 3-2, if I remember right : it's the surgery on the plane one). But I've mostly played at Bust-A-Move DS : that game is just addictive, and it's very easy and fast to take and finish an Endless Mode playthrough.

I saved the best for the end, because I have an hilarious anecdote for it. In the case of Pokémon Emerald, I succeeded in breaking my former record of 77 consecutive win at Battle Tower Double Battles, establishing the new record of 99 wins. A shame I couldn't beat the 100th one, because I would have won the Gold Plate... Ah well, that will be for the next time. And I'm sure I can do it, my Double Battle team is a very good one.

(For those who want to know, my Double Battle team is :

Metagross
Adamant, Clear Body
@ Lum Berry

* Meteor Mash
* Earthquake
* Agility
* Explosion

Gengar
Modest, Levitate
@ BrightPowder

* Thunderbolt
* Psychic
* Ice Punch
* Giga Drain

Aerodactyl
Jolly, Rock Head
@ Choice Band

* Double Edge
* Rock Slide
* Earthquake
* Aerial Ace

Vaporeon
Bold, Water Absorb
@ Leftovers

* Surf
* Toxic
* Wish
* Protect )

So, the hilarious anecdote. It was the 94th battle (i.e., in the very tough battles range of the Tower). Here's a report of that battle, I've LJ-cut it because it's long :

Ares sent out Metagross and Gengar !
Opponent sent out Pinsir and Heracross !

1st Turn :
Gengar used PSYCHIC ! (it missed Heracross !)
Heracross used MEGAHORN ! (Metagross loses about half of his HP)
Metagross used AGILITY !
Pinsir used SWORDS DANCE !

2nd Turn :
Metagross used EARTHQUAKE ! (damages a little Pinsir and Heracross, just enough for Gengar to finish Heracross, no damage to Gengar)
Gengar used PSYCHIC ! (Heracross is KO)
Opponent sent out Shuckle !
Pinsir used SWORDS DANCE !

3rd Turn :
Metagross used EARTHQUAKE ! (damages both Pinsir and Shuckle, no damage to Gengar)
Gengar used THUNDERBOLT ! (damages Pinsir to red bar, but Pinsir is not dead)
Pinsir used SWORDS DANCE !
Shuckle used DOUBLE-TEAM !
Pinsir activates SALAC BERRY !

Uh-oh. Trouble on the horizon : Shuckle used the gay Double Team (and Aero's Aerial Ace only does neutral damage on that Poké), and Pinsir has maxed his Attack, has a speed boost (but thanksfully not enough to outspeed Agility Meta, Gengar and Aero), and is probably planning to use the Flail strategy.

Then, something unbelievable occured.

4th Turn :
Pinsir used ENDURE !
Metagross used METEOR MASH ! (it misses Shuckle !)
Gengar used THUNDERBOLT ! (Pinsir endures the hit !)
Shuckle used SANDSTORM !

...
...
...
...
...

YES. O_O SHUCKLE USED SANDSTORM. HE USED SANDSTORM !!!!! XD XD XD XD XD
That was the most dumbest move I've ever seen, and I couldn't believe what I saw under my eyes. I went into a mad laugh of death, serious. What's the point of a Salac/Endure/Flail strategy if you have a Sandstrom user in your team ?!? :-)))

AND THAT'S NOT THE BEST OF IT. XD

The sandstorm rages.
Gengar is shaken by the sandstorm !
Pinsir is shaken by the sandstorm !
Pinsir is KO !
Opponent sent out SHEDINJA !

...
...
...

There, I was dead of laughter for the count. It was so ridiculous I had to put my DS on the desk so I could laugh all my content on my bed. A Shedinja now ?!? Either the computer wanted me to win, or it had a death wish.

So yeah.

5th turn :
Ares switches Gengar out !
Ares sent out Aerodactyl ! (my plan was to take out Shuckle with Aerial Ace, as well as not damaging Gengar by the sandstorm any further).
Metagross used METEOR MASH ! (it misses Shuckle !)
Shedinja used SHADOW BALL ! (damages Aerodactyl a little bit)

The sandstorm rages.
Shedinja is shaken by the sandstorm !
Shedinja is KO !

6th turn :
Metagross used EARTHQUAKE !
Shuckle is KO !
Ares defeated Opponent !

Well, now I'm back at home. I've made today some new videos for my Youtube account. 8 videos are added :

* the last 5 Demo Presentations of Tokimeki Memorial Taisen Puzzle Dama (Shiori, Ayako, Nozomi, Megumi, and Yuko). Now all the 11 Demos are up ;

* the opening, and the first two CGs of the French version of Tail Concerto.
They're special, as the French version, unlike the US one which was totally redubbed, retained the Japanese songs and dub, and added French subtitles. Tail Concerto is a very special case, as here in France, the Japanese games reaching our shores are nearly always mere translations of the adapted American version of said games. To my knowledge, it's the only game I've ever seen where the French version totally basing itself on the Japanese version instead of the US one.

I dunno if I will be able to record all the other CGs, as my sister, who has beaten Tail Concerto in the past, has lost the Memory Card she recorded her progress, and I haven't played it very far. I'd like to beat this game, but I'm not sure I'll have the time, even if this game is short and easy, as I'm already very busy.

You'll note the big quality difference between my Tail Concerto videos and my Tokimeki Memorial Taisen Puzzle Dama (and Dr Robotnik ones as well) : that because my camcorder is able to record European PS1 games directly through a cable (provided along with the camcorder) connected to the extra ports of my PS1 RGB cable, but not the Japanese PS1 ones, sadly : when I try to, it gives me a distorted screen, just like when I tried to play Japanese PS1 games with the standard scart plug provided with my PS1, and not with the special RGB cable. Me thinks the camcorder's cable is not fit for NTSC games. T_T (but if you think it's something else, I'd be glad to have your opinion about it).

For that reason, I'm forced to record videos of Japanese PS1 games (and games of my other consoles as well) the standard way. Really annoying, but for now that's the best I can do.
That being said, if you know how I can solve that problem (i.e. what materials I need), feel free to tell me, I would be very grateful to you. ~o~

Whew, that was a long post. O_O
