"To Whom May Not Own Another Passage"

Clouds are scattering over the sky,
And you never fail to condescend.
You’ve taken the easier route,
And I have no more sympathy to lend.

And it’s unhealthy to acquire such a high demand
From those around you and from yourself,
You have to discover how to gain sunshine on your own,
And stop looking to others for your own inner help.

But it’s regrettable that we have arranged so many doors,
Ones devoid of locks and hinges to bolt shut.
But it has come time to disqualify you from this passage,
Because your words hold no worth, and I’ve grown fatigued by your rut.

I’ve gained the key of realization, and now I’m voiding this passage.
And so you’ll remain, this winter, starving and cold.
And you’ll discontinue those demands and requests,
You thought to be so clever, consequential and bold.

Despite what you claim to be,
I can see no happiness at first sight.
Because when I look into your eyes,
I see nothing but catastrophe and a little girl’s plight.

And you must accept this like winter that awaits;
there is no way you can escape yourself.
