...drowned boys of summer rot in the scotfree sea.

Dude, I love this campus. Last night (okay, afternoon) it was all gorgeous and overcast so I put on a sweatshirt and found a quiet slab of concrete to read on (Rebuilt by Michael Chorost for my technoculture class, it's fucking brilliant so far, and the author's going to be a guest speaker for the class. How awesome is that? And, yes, I am going to be a total fangirl and get him to sign my copy. So what?) and just relaxed there for approx. 3 hours. It was a great spot too; trees overhead, the pathway lined with reed and grass bushes, between two buildings so there was a constant breeze. Fucking glorious.

And then as I walked back to my room I was facing the sunset so I could see all these magnificent pink and purple tinted clouds and just... yeah.

Mmm, I also met my suitemates and they seem pretty chill. The girl right next to me is the most quiet of the bunch, so score for me (I have serious sleeping problems when it's not quiet, in that I don't do it). I've also been hanging out with this chick in Cuarto, which is ~10 minutes off campus by bike, which is cool because now I don't get nervous when I have to leave campus. I watched Wedding Crashers with her on Friday, it's a pretty cute movie. I love the psycho redhead and emo kid. Heh, when is this not true?.

I can already tell that genetics is going to fucking kill me. It's an almost exact replica of AP Bio, with none of the interesting side tracks that you would expect from Genetics and Society. Oh well. I have a shitload of reading to do for technoculture, so adios.

(P.S. Brendan Kennelly owns my soul. And my subject line for this entry.)

school, campus, me
