I'm not dead!

Sorry I fell off the face of the planet for a while, there. First it was fuck! college?! and then it was COMIC-CON and then it was phew, comic-con... but now I am back.

CC was awesome, by the way, although I missed out on the Neil Gaiman and Ray Bradbury signings. :(  Oh well, I still have my signed Bradbury book from two years ago and  I got to see Gaiman's panel, which was a lot of fun. I also got Holly Black to sign my copy of Tithe and she was giving out the first book in the Spiderwick Chronicles, which she also signed. :D I was like third in line. Heh...

Also, BROM!!! I tracked him down on the exhibition hall floor and he signed my copy of The Plucker! I was completely ridiculous, of course. It went something like this:

Brom: Hi!
Me: *grins stupidly with my face angled toward the floor* Hey. *hands him my book*
Brom: Should I make this out to someone or just sign it?
Me: Um, my name is Courtney.
Brom: Okay. *starts signing* So, are you having a good con?
Me: Yeah! Are you?
Brom: Yeah, it's pretty good. *starts drawing* Have you bought lots of goodies?
Me: Er, actually, I'm a bit of a spendthrift. *is having a hard time looking him in the face*
Brom: *smiles and taps his book* Only go for the quality stuff, eh?
Me: *blushes insanely* Absolutely.
Brom: *finishes writing and hands me back the book* There you go. *smiles*
Me: *trying not to freak out like the socially inept fangirl I am* Thank you so much! *scurries away before my grin breaks my face*

I am so unbelievably cool, I know.

I also went to the Kevin Smith panel (3 hours) early, and my friend (and his ex-girlfriend, who is vicious) snagged us seats in the third row. This all boils down to the fact that I was like fifteen feet from the stage, and seeing as Seth MacFarlene and Kevin Smith were on that stage...I was freaking out pretty hard. (A brief clarification: Seth is the creator and a voice actor for Family Guy and Kevin Smith is the producer of Dogma, Clerks, and so on a.k.a. SILENT BOB a.k.a. the dude in this icon) So, !!!

Spent most of my time hanging with Kiddo (who used to be way too hyperactive for normal human function, but is mellowing slightly with age), volunteering at the art show (who want to make me staff next year) or kicking it with my previously mentioned buddy, M. (who needs to stop kissing me when he is so obviously still head over heels for his ex.). I checked out the LGBT mixer, as well, and met up with a webcomic creator from Minnesota who I had met previously (sweet lady named Terry, I'll link her comic when it's up and running) and had a conversation with a gay man about how everyone loves boobs. At the time I had "GAY (:-))" written on my arm in huge letters, so that was a bit of a conversation piece (Kiddo hasn't lost all of her hyperactivity). So, that was Comic-con! (And it only took two weeks to recover from!)

ALSO, I'VE FINALLY BEEN REINSTATED TO DAVIS, AND HAVE MY SCHOLARSHIP ON A QUARTER TO QUARTER BASIS. I CAN'T FUCK AROUND WITH MY GRADES THIS YEAR, GUYS. And I have to choose my classes again during pass two. :-(((((

geek, friends, comiccon, me, !!!
