Lately, my days off have consisted of watching I Love Lucy re-runs and drooling over Lucille Ball's high-waisted genie pants. I'm content knitting or reading Krakaur's Into the Wild until Johnny gets home then I usually make dinner and fall asleep with a book spread open over my face. I don't know when the grandmafication of Emily began, or when it will peter out. I blame a lot of it on Raina, but also I can attribute much of it to my missing of my own Nanna, Mary Lou who died when I was only eight. I miss how she used walk around the house humming, so you could never lose her and how she could never pronounce the word Eagle (she said "iggle"). After my grandpa died we went through both of their belongings and found an entire trunk filled with diaries Nanna had kept over the years. In one of them I found an entry talking about how she had babysat me and I refused to eat anything. Guess somethings never change.
Now that I think about it this may be my second entry on grandmafication. I wish I could speed up time and get those gray hairs growin'.
