MONTREAL, le fuckin' eh!!

Yes, I know, I haven't posted in a month, but this is the perfect time to catch up. As of yesterday, I returned from the fabulous Winters' College Montreal Trip, an annual weekend of illegal/fun activities. Here be the re-cap:

Thursday Night/Friday Morning:
The bus was slated to leave Winters' college at 6am, something none of us were looking forward too. What was even less desirable was that we had to board said bus at 5am. So, thursday night I had intended to have a shower and maybe sleep for 3-4 hours before getting on the bus, and falling asleep again. Nathaniel and I tried to watch a film instead and had dinner, so I went to bed around 2:30, woke up at 4 am by my lovely mother who insisted she'd be up anyway and call me. Went to the council office at 5am, where I discovered that the bus wasn't there... and didn't show up until 5:45. *grumbles* When we did finally get on said bus and started driving, I didn't fall asleep for a while since I decided to watch the sun rise. Then I passed out. After the long ride, we arrived at the hotel, and a bunch of us went to Cora's for lunch. Crepes for all!! That caused everybody to require a nap prior to doing other bits and pieces around Montreal. When I woke up, Bear and Shawn were getting people together for dinner, which was at an Italian restaurant two blocks from the hotel. For some reason, they gave a free round of shots (expensive too, according to those who actually drank vodka), a free pitcher of Richard's and they asked us to come back. Good food too!
Tonight was the night of the dance club! Everybody who had been on the trip before had been to this club lovingly called the fouf. The real name was Les Foufanes Electronique, which losely translates into the electric ass (only in Montreal). So we went clubbing there. Kewl things about the fouf:
a) cheap cover, $5 on Friday night
b) it's huge! main floor with pool table, kitchen, bar and mega lounge area. Second floor with another bar and lounge area and huge dance floor, with another bar. Plus a balcony with another bar.
c) cheap drinks, and I mean cheap. $2 bottles of beer, $3.25 for sex on the beach. mega drunkness occured, although nopt by me.
d) they actually play good music!! Other than the occassional death/heavy metal song, the fouf plays mostly punk, ska, alternative and rock n' roll.
Therefore, we had an awesome time and stayed until about 3am.

Saturday:
As you can imagine, I slept in, although not has late as my counterparts in the room. Being women, and having pseudo-maternal instincts, Nikki and I stayed up to make sure the boys came home. They did around 3:40, they left and we went to sleep.
So I got up at about 11:30 to go find this awesome restaurant I love and do some shopping. I did find the restaurant and enjoyed some of the best pizza ever. Although it took some searching, it's nice to know that the restaurant still exists. I then went shopping on St. Cat. Need I mention I walked outside this entire time? and it's about -15 or so, and windy, and snowing. Yeah... It wasn't too bad since the hotel was actually really close to St. Cat and Notre-Dame. Shopping was fun, despite slipping on my ass once. When I got back, I hung out in random rooms for a while, and then went out to dinner (again) to the Italian restaurant. They gave us two free pitchers, and made the rest of them cost only $10!
That night, there was a lot of dispute as to what to do. A few people went to the casino, a whole bunch of us pre-partied, and a few went to the strip club *cough, Bear, cough*. After pre=partying, we decided to go to a few things offered as part of the Festival of the Night in downtown Montreal. First, the giant dryer (yes, as in laundry), then a break-dancing compeitition and then an 80's theme night at a dance club. We did go to the dryers.... kinda sucked. We discovered there was an hour and a half wait to get into the break-dancing thing, and much arguing about what would happen next ensued. We ended up going to the fouf once again. This time though, no death metal (except Rammstein) and all punk/ska/R'n'R! Sweeeeet. This time cover was $8, but still quite reasonable for a club, especially on a Saturday. This time we left because they had last call and were closing down. So we got home around 4am, Mike ordered pizza, and we stayed up until 5 watching tv.

Sunday:
Sunday was mostly going home-ness, which included getting up at 11 and hoping on the bus 20 minutes later. Everyone hit up the grocery store first, mainly for breafast. We wacthed a few movies, ran into a Wendy's on the way home and arrived at York at 5:30, which I thought was really good time, since we left at noon, and had a twenty minute break in between.

And now, I am home. I have had a much needed shower, washed all my cigarette stench drenched clothes and caught up on the homework assignment I should have done. A successful trip all and all.
