Max is still wearing his flight-suit, though cradling his helmet under one arm.

We should also finish that Spiral Labyrinth post

"I believe we said we'd talk about some things when things were a little safer, and we did just stop the Protodeviln and the Anti-Spiral," Milia says, expression serious. "I think we have some time now."

Doh.

"Yes, you did."

He sets his helmet aside, shifting his feet a little as he waits.

[ace_mayor]

Milia takes two quick steps and is suddenly right in front of Max.

"I changed my mind," she says, taking one of his hands in hers. "I don't want to talk yet."

And then she leans in and kisses her husband.

Max is surprised for a moment, but he returns the kiss.

He then pulls back after a while, his face slightly flushed. God, this is just like that first 'date' in Macross's park - he being nervous and anxious.

While Milia was just as armed as she was back then, she's fortunately feeling a lot calmer and less murderous.

She pulls back and looks to the side, a little nervous, though. "...I had a whole big speech planned, but the mood's kind of left since we got back. And I can't figure out where that bikini thing went," she says, mumbling the last part.

"The short version is, I love you, Max. And I don't want you going around forgetting that. If um...you had...or I had made you..."

She hits him lightly in the chest. "Giving speeches is practically my job, and you're making me stumble over words like a teenager! This isn't really fair..."

Max stares at his wife in what amounts to shock...

Then grins. A honest, boyish grin that takes him all the way back to the time she agreed to a date in the arcade.

"I love you too, Milia. Even if our job gets in our way sometimes."

He pulls her close, "Hey, you're just stumbling over words. I am acting like a teenager."

She smiles and returns his hug tightly. "That's because you're an idiot."

Eventually, she's going to have to get back to actual business, but...she holds Max for a little while longer regardless.

"Occasionally," he agrees amiably before lapsing into silence.

A good silence, considering the woman he is currently holding on to.

Milia holds him for another minute, then sighs into his shoulder.

"We do still have work to do," Milia says, hesitating.

"...but when we're done, come home, okay?"
