He then pulls back after a while, his face slightly flushed. God, this is just like that first 'date' in Macross's park - he being nervous and anxious.
While Milia was just as armed as she was back then, she's fortunately feeling a lot calmer and less murderous.
She pulls back and looks to the side, a little nervous, though. "...I had a whole big speech planned, but the mood's kind of left since we got back. And I can't figure out where that bikini thing went," she says, mumbling the last part.
"The short version is, I love you, Max. And I don't want you going around forgetting that. If um...you had...or I had made you..."
She hits him lightly in the chest. "Giving speeches is practically my job, and you're making me stumble over words like a teenager! This isn't really fair..."
Max is still wearing his flight-suit, though cradling his helmet under one arm.

And then she leans in and kisses her husband.

Then grins. A honest, boyish grin that takes him all the way back to the time she agreed to a date in the arcade.
"I love you too, Milia. Even if our job gets in our way sometimes."
He pulls her close, "Hey, you're just stumbling over words. I am acting like a teenager."

Eventually, she's going to have to get back to actual business, but...she holds Max for a little while longer regardless.
