I think ZAFT really managed to outdo themselves with the ZAKU. It's vastly superior to the GINN, which was the primary mobile suit ZAFT used at the beginning of the war.

The GINN, that was still vastly superior to the opposition's counterpart, correct?

The enemy didn't have a counterpart. They didn't use mobile suits until eleven months into the war.

I don't suppose they use VFs either?

No. All of the forces delegated to fighting ZAFT used mobile armors.

I'm surprised they even lasted eleven months to deploy mobile suits themselves.

They had numerical superiority. Coordinators have severe restrictions on procreation, and so each successive generation of Coordinators has been smaller than the previous one. Their numbers were just enough to match up with our skills and drag the war out.

You saw nothing

A dwindling population is bad news, is there any plan to rectify that?

It's been an important priority, but as far as I know there hasn't been a definite plan to rectify the situation. It's a difficult problem to solve, especially without stepping on too many toes.
