Bah, I'm sure you can make room. and/or pull a "...well, I DID warn you, and now I've already paid for plane tickets/hotel, so either I go or you reimburse me" bit

...or I could bring a laptop. denied, I like my bosses way too much to pull that kind of stuff on them.

....well, i'll bring a laptop anyway, but I can virtuously intend to work.

It never hurts to bring a laptop. If nothing else, one usually ends up hooked to the TV screen in the room for streaming video and playing DVDs anyway. Those totally count as work, right?
