Do wombats wiggle?
Yes, I know.....stupid subject...but do you think they wiggle? I always wanted one for a pet....but now I think my cats would eat it.....
Now for the "real" post...
Spent the weekend doing various things including trying to pack boxes, driving a u-haul truck, watching Xena, reading, and being doubled over in pain (not in that order necessarily). Thank you
ralst for making Xena your fandom of the month. With all of the wonderful fanfic and images coming up for the challenges, I decided to give Xena a second chance...and I must say, I'm hooked. I'm almost done with the first season and it's actually pretty relaxing to just kick back and watch as she intersects with all of the myths I used to study. A great exercise in the "suspension of disbelief".
The moving went about as expected. I love my sister and lets just say I'm glad we can forgive each other. We both said some nasty stuff toward the end of a VERY long day.
My stomach's been acting weird and I can't tell if it's the meds or if I caught the bug that Mom says has been going around. Oh well, what else can I do but deal with it was best I can? I have been taking it easy on the red meats though and found that I can cook a really mean Grouper (not that the fish was mean.....how would I know?). I've been cultivating a better taste for seafood because it seems to give me the least amount of back talk.
Oh! Thanks to a particular friend (who I'm not sure if they want to be named or not, so I'm playing it safe), I"m going to see the premiere of Stardust on Wednesday!!! Then I can start on the book that I bought two weeks ago. It along with the last Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman and Terri Pratchet's Good Omens, Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass, and Sarah Water's Tipping the Velvet are all waiting for me to get some time to crack their covers. The movie looks awesome. Michelle Pfeifer might have to go on my list (which may or may not get published here).
So seeing a old friend this weekend got me to thinking. I really need to reconnect with a few people. One reads this journal, hopefully. You know who you are....so if you're up to it, I'd like to talk. I'll also send you an email when I can. If you're up for it, reply to the email. :) I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the subject of a few posts ago, but I probably need to also clear the air with that. We'll see if I'm feeling up to it this week. I'd like to tackle the two separately, just to keep my stress levels down (aka, so I don't freak out and become HeartAttack!Jenn).
I'm hoping the office found my packages (ones that were delivered damn near a month ago). I got two notes dated 7/25 (even though I went to their office on that day and there was nothing there). Keep your fingers crossed because it was over $100 of technical books I ordered through my company.
Anyway, that's the news with me. I'm gonna spend tonight and tomorrow night at home with Xena, Gabrielle, my fanfic, and the cats.....maybe eating fish (....ha! get it?.....of course you do......).
