Wild night at the Charleston.

The weekend before, I started telling people we were planning a get-together (I hesitate to say 'party', we aren't partying types). Since it was a LARP weekend, I didn't get a lot of responses, and figured okay, smaller intimate group. Then the next weekend the LARP group was planning a day at Canada's Wonderland - the big amusement park - and figured that would suck people away.

Turns out there are people like me, who would rather not spend the day spending money, standing in lines and being in the sun and would prefer the eat free food and play card and board games with other people.

Word got around, with a lot of maybes, and I realized that at least ten people were showing up to our small apartment. Peter and I prepared with extra food, warnings of lack of seating, and lots of paper plates/cups because we didn't fancy the amount of washing.

Overall, it was a lot of fun. People brought games and chairs and snacks. I got to play a lot of different games; people were excited to play big games with other people who were equally excited.

I was a little anxious about getting non-LARPers with LARPers, but everyone got along really well and were super excited to play all these games. Everyone said they were hoping to get together next month for a regular thing, which I'd like to do. At the moment, the amount of socializing has worn me down.

A 30% off coupon came in the mail for me. Coupled with the fact that Old Navy is pretty regularly cheap and I only buy discounted items, I went on a mini shopping spree. Even Peter found something, a Transformers shirt.

shopping, reports, public
