hi all! i am in south africa now, safe and sound. i just wanted tell you that i've started updating my other blog, http://velvetworm.blogspot.com. i'm probably going to update that much more often than livejournal, so fyi. also, they block facebook on campus until 6pm, so i've only gone on that once since i've gotten here, when i was in an internet cafe. they configured my computer to get wireless on campus, but not in the dorms, and i'm not usually on campus past 6pm. (it's dangerous to walk back there after dark, because my dorm is kind of far.) so i know people have been writing on my wall and stuff, but i haven't been able to reply to them. sorry about that.

also, if people could leave their addresses in the comments, or e-mail them to me if you'd rather (eva_carroll@umail.ucsb.edu), that'd be great! that way i can send postcards and stuff. this is my address here, if for whatever reason you feel like sending something to me:
