dude! tim burton is going to direct a new movie version of the musical "sweeney todd", with, of course, johnny depp starring. (read more here) that's awesome. i hope it's good. i was disappointed by "the corpse bride" but maybe it just got bogged down in comparisons to "the nightmare before christmas.
speaking of johnny depp, i finally went to see the pirates of the carribean sequel, alone. it was ok. it did not live up to the hype for me. it didn't really have the originality and freshness of the first one. plus i didn't really care for the ending, although i figured barbossa would come back somehow. and the jack and elizabeth thing? no. i don't approve. jack is so great because he's larger than life; please don't bring him down to earth with all that character development shit. he is above that. i did like the sword fight in the wheel though.
i also saw "the big lebowski" at iv theater last night. now that was a pretty good movie. i can see why it has such a cult following. i was so happy when the first credits were rolling and i saw that steve buscemi was in it. :) i love that guy.
