R.I.P. Sven and George--we shall miss you

so two of my fish have gone to that great lake in the sky. the third one(whom i've decided is fred, although they all looked alike) looked like it was gonna die too, but i think he pulled through after i put him in a different fish bowl. it was really sad last night, he kept trying to swim around, but he kept tilting to his side, like he was gonna go belly-up. it made me wonder, why do fish go belly-up when they die? i think i learned it once on bill nye, something about the air in their stomachs. anyway, fred looks very lonely now, but i'm still deciding if i'm going to get him a friend. i hate to sound like a bad fish-mom, but i'm kindof tired of having to take care of them. man that sounds mean.

DUDE, i know there won't be many others who are excited about this, but the new george romero movie comes out on friday! night of the living dead, dawn of the dead, day of the dead(i hope those are in the right order), and now land of the dead. this means that i have to see the first three before friday. or at least as soon as possible. much zombie fun to be had.

speaking of monsters, i'm reading 'frankenstein' at the moment. it's very good, if you don't mind the super-intellectual and poetic language of the 19th-century upper-class, which personally i go for(it makes me feel smart, lol). the book is not what i imagined. it's not frightening, at least by today's terms. and frankenstein's monster is not a lurching idiot, but rather quite eloquent and intelligent(i have yet to read how he became so intelligent). and he moves with superhuman speed. anyway, i highly recommend it. and frankenstein is not a mad scientist--tortured, but quite rational.

today is my mommy's birthday. i think i'll go make her a cake.

movies, books
