Hi, Nattie! I've seen you around hogwarts_elite and it's good to see you here too.
I've read through your application a couple of times and can't seem to shake the feeling I'm getting of a Slytherin push. My main concern is that you've had to place what I feel is a lot of emphasis on your Slytherin traits, instead of letting them come through naturally in your application. I've always believed that in these applications, one should show, not tell, and allow the people reading the application to make the final decision. I noticed that you mentioned that English is not your first language, so that might have something to do with it, but I'm still not entirely convinced by your answers and arguments that would otherwise sound Slytherinesque. It's been said already by my other housemates (that's what I get for getting to your application this late), but I too am picking up on Slytherin catchphrases that don't really go anywhere, and the sections where you don't sound pushy come from a more natural Gryffindor spirit. You're loyal and value your sense of humour, and describe yourself as 'funny'. Even your negative traits can be argued for Gryffindor as well. You're smart, but I don't see the curiosity and love of learning that would get me to vote you to Ravenclaw. I know that you admire Thomas Hunt Morgan for his accomplishments in genetic research, but your answer doesn't really read like a Ravenclaw's interest, which generally includes a demonstration of a breadth of knowledge on that subject or person ... and you only mention your interest in genetics in passing throughout your application. The way you mention fashion sense as being an important factor in your respect for other people (and why you like Rita Skeeter so much) reminds me a lot of Lavender and Parvati, both Gryffindors. You also mentioned that you'd be friends with Lavender, and that you have a lot of material wishes. That's not to say that Gryffindors are materialistic, but I think I've just come to associate the fashionable girly thing with Lavender and Parvati.
You might do alright in Slytherin with us, and it'll be nice to have you if you end up being sorted to us, but I think you're very well placed at HE and would do very well here in Gryffindor as well.
