Troll! In the lavatories! Thought you ought to know...

And I've been busy over on mecabricks again and completed another model...

This set revisits lego's 2002 4712: Troll on the Loose in the format of the 2021 Hogwarts modules. The build is designed to be converted from a 76386-1 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake and meant to attach to the left of the set, so that visually each "borrows" the stall from the other, allowing them both to appear larger. The design also attempts to minimise the number of new parts and to bridge the gaps with as many pieces from that set as possible, operating under the assumption that a number of PPMs might be used as starting points for these builds. (Further piece count reduction could be achieved by reducing the amount of colour and texture variance on the external wall.)

Play features: The stall wall and the mirror sit firmly on four and two studs respectively, but are distinct units to allow the troll to wreak a little havoc. (Troll's gotta troll.) The sink has been countersunk by a depth of two plates and is anchored on a 2x2 surface, permitting it to hold fast as the mirror topples, but to also allow for removal if your troll just can't do enough damage. (And haven't we all had days like that?) The stall door has been mounted on the right hand side to increase stability in the midst of all the chaos (and echo the PPM orientation). The plate / tile combination around the sink, in addition to using extra parts from the PPM, allows the minifigs with the immovable "firstie" limbs (41879 legs short) a little freedom of movement, should they wish to cower beside the sink for safety, say.

MISSING PARTS: Unfortunately the Troll from the original set (4712) isn't in the mecabricks database; one of the Trolls World Tour trolls has been kind enough to fill in. (They're decidedly more amenable than the Mountain Trolls are.) The stall door from the Polyjuice Potion Mistake is also missing and has been replaced with a brick built version for the time being.

I also made a parts list which I posted on mecabricks, in case anyone wants to give it a go. (You might want to check it out anyway, because you can spin and twirl the models, which: so cool.)

This is what it looks like attached to the Polyjuice Potion Mistake set, after the troll has had a go of it, excerpt and in full, and the following picture shows how they look from the outside.

And I've also been playing with the render function. I suspect to get better results I'll have to upgrade to a different programme and actually break out the lappie, but this gives you an impression of what's possible. Bear in mind, the sets only exist virtually. Not too shabby for a free service used on an ipad, I think.
