2023 HP GWP news...

And we have some news from a very reliable leaker on this year's lego Harry Potter theme gift with purchase (GWP). Open the fold for more...

According to Brick Clicker's Instagram story about the Gringotts Vault GWP promo, the set contains a vault that can be attached to the bottom of the new Gringotts set. The GWP vault is slightly deeper than the ones included in the set. The set also includes a Goblin minifig, rollercoaster track and a minecart, making it sound a little like 4714 the 2002 Gringotts Bank set. While I expect the GWP to be smaller, and to not include even the rudimentary bank structure, it will be interesting to contrast the development in design between the nearly twenty-two year old set and this new one.

The purchase threshold for the GWP is still unknown, but Brick Clicker confirms rumours that it will be available from 01 September, coinciding with the release of 76417 the Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank - Collectors' Edition D2C set.

And here a little teaser from Dylan Chow's IG:

It's probably a use of artistic license, but either way it's cute and whets the appetite for more. Nicely done.

And according to Promobricks you could use it as a piggy bank, although I'm not sure if they mean real monehs or the special collectors coins / "Galleons" from the Gringotts set.

What's interesting to me is - based solely on the design of the build - I'd decided the GWP was likely going to attach towards the rear of the "ground floor" level of the new Gringott set, as there's a door to nowhere it could have made sense of. Brick Clicker's description doesn't make it sound like that will be the case, however, and Dylan seems to agree, so the question remains, why that empty space?

dh, gwp, promo, coming soon, ps
