So, livejournal... I was right, was I not?
I disappeared. But that's actually not what I'm here to
write about. (Don't you worry. There will be another post including my
reasons for leaving and everything that's changed since I last posted.)
Right now, the focus is on VAMPIRES.
YAAAYYY, right?
Eh, not so much. What you should first of all know,
is that this isn't a huge post of hate for all you stephanie lovers.
It's my views on all of this and I mean no offense to those who
are obsessed, and I know there are a lot of you.
Twilight.
There really aren't very many ways I can get through
my day without hearing about this, being asked about it,
or seeing a black book with a little red ribbon or apple on it.
Don't get me wrong, Stephanie writes a pretty interesting book,
but without even trying to be, I am so incredibly suffocated
by this huge outburst of Twilight and Robert and vampires in general.
I used to have a slight infatuation with vampires myself
until about a few months ago when this whole thing broke out.
Has anyone noticed that vampires are EVERYONE'S favorite thing now?
Would you like to hear something funny?
I went to the book store last week and (really to no surprise)
there was a whole SECTION devoted to vampires.
A fucking SECTION.
Really, now that everything has ended up the way it has (and I know
well that it's no where near ended) I pretty much despise Twilight, True Blood, and
vampires in general.
This outburst has driven me insane.
I hear about it everywhere, as mentioned before, and, as you now
know, I LOVE the internet.
Guess what I can't not (double negative, I know) find while browsing?
Yep. Twilight.
/Especially/ on livejournal. Not going to lie, it really is annoying, but
people will like what they like and there's nothing I or anyone else can
do about that.
Another thing that I'd like to shed light on is True Blood.
It's a new television series about... well, vampires, of course.
And this, like twilight, originally came from a series of books
I used to read.
The 'Dead Until Dark' Western Vampire series by Charlaine Harris.
Oh. My. Fuck.
/Really/?
Does anyone write their own scripts anymore?
I've noticed that /so/ many things are taken from books.
This either ruins everything for the series in general, or
creates lovers of the series on television, then they could go out
and buy the book.
I can see how this is a very great way to make money.
It's also a great way to annoy a lot of people, but not
nearly as many as who LOVE it all.
Which is why it makes money, is it not?
Regardless of what makes money for this,
it still deeply annoys me.
So, like others, I'll wait.
I'll wait for it to die down and become less of an insane
fad, which could very well take years,
but since I can't suddenly render myself oblivious,
that's what I'll have to do.

true blood,
