Modern Family
Hey everyone. I've been looking for a story; I normally read R/S slash on FF or AO3 so I think it was at one of those sites but I just can't be sure. I believe it was a non-magic AU set in modern times. I wish I could be more specific, but what I remember is:
1. Remus and Dora were married but are now semi-amicably divorced.
They now share custody of Teddy.
2. I think (?) they had three homes. Remus and Dora each had their own home and they shared
one for Teddy. They took turns living with Teddy when they had custody, taking care so
Teddy would feel secure in his home environment and not have to shuffle and pack and move
from home to home.
3. Remus eventually meets Sirius and they fall in love. Dora, meanwhile. falls in love with
a contractor (?) named Dave (?) Dave is an old-school fairly macho kind of guy.
Both Sirius and Dave are readily accepted by Teddy and both play an increasingly parental
role in Teddy's life.
Remus/Sirius + Teddy + Dora/Dave
4. Remus and Dora were already divorced. Neither Sirius or Dave were responsible for the
breakup of the marriage.
5. The adults share an uneasy alliance until one day Dave is offered a great job overseas.
Dora comes by demanding full custody. Remus is left hurt and depressed.
6. Finally, unable to stand seeing Remus so hurt, Sirius goes and confronts Dora. She gets
really snarky and scoffs. Dave and I are a real family. Who are you? You're just Remus'
poof. Your claim for custody would be laughed out of court. Sirius pleads with her to
consider what's best for Teddy. They all love Teddy; he and Remus can't legally get
married but they are parents. Remus is a loving, responsible parent and would be
devastated if he lost Teddy.
7. Dora eventually reconsiders and she and David decide to stay where they are and
maintain the status quo.
Do you have any ideas what story this could be? I'd really apppreciate your suggestions.
