Any long, chaptered, void-filling fics? ;)

I hate when you finish a fic and you just feel like, well, that's it, there'll never be anything like that again. Don't you?

I've just reread a few of my favourite parts of The Shoebox Project and I'm feeling miserable and angsty about the fact it's over. I've got a bit more free time (and some long train journeys) coming up over the next week and a ( Read more... )

Self rec:
I've got a (pre-slash) story that clocks in at around 93,000 words and takes place during the boys' first year. Obviously there's nothing going on at that age, but my goal was to build a foundation of intimacy and affection between them. Sirius is already pretty much in love with Remus by the end of it; he just doesn't know it yet.

A Conspiracy of Cartographers, Year One

(Year Two is currently in the works, and I mean to do all seven.)

I've heard of you/ACoC! But I've never read it before :3 Thanks!

Dedicated. I like that. It's better than "completely obsessed madwoman who really should have grown out of her fixation with gay teenage wizards by now". I hope you like the story.

Oh, and there's always franticbabbles. Hers are classics. They're not available on the web anymore, but I've got a PDF of her archive, if you're interested. Let me know your email, and I'll send it along.

People like you should be easier to come by outside of LJ communities! I'd really appreciate that. My email is just parchmentfox@gmail.com - all my R/S accounts have that kind of username, as I'm pretty sure it's the only one no one from my 'real' (read: forced day-to-day) life currently knows about. God help me if they ever find out ;D

For the record, nobody should EVER grow out of their R/S fixation. I mean, they say the truth sustains us all, right? ;) <3

*grin* Pica is my fandom persona (for more than seven years now. Oy!). I mostly try to keep it separate from my real-life identity. It wouldn't do for my parents or employers to find out I write wizard porn....

And no, I will never, ever grow out of my R/S love. It is by far my favourite hobby.

...but I just finished Shoebox for the first time in about four years, and I forgot how bad the cravings get when it's over. Might you, possibly please, hook me up with this franticbabbles goodness?

My email is elise.the.great#gmail.com, just pop in the appropriate symbol. If you do this I will love you forever and clutch the fic to my heart.

No problem. I'm always glad to share these fabulous stories.

(You know, I started reading Shoebox back when it was still unfinished pre-slash, and somehow I got distracted and never read the rest of it. Does this make me a bad puppyshipper? I realise it's one of the classics of the pairing. I think I always worried that it was so good, I might unintentionally borrow from its characterisations for my own works.)

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! I just cracked it open and I'm so excited!

And, well, I can't imagine life without Shoebox... I've used to it transform strictly-raised conservative homophobes into rampant slashers. It's a pretty powerful piece of writing. That said, some things just don't work for everyone, and sometimes your own writing is more important than reading someone else's work. I salute you, fellow puppyshipper!
