It is September 1, 2005 and the beginning of another year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Headmistress Agnes Dumbledore has presided over the Sorting and applauded at the first years being placed in their Houses. "Where's everyone else?" Ray asks, shoveling food into his mouth. He's not as fond of the pumpkin juice as Jimmy, but takes a mug and sips it.

Orlando dashes in, out of breath, and takes his seat next to Ray. "Sorry I'm late! I was out flying! God, the sunset was brilliant today!"

He starts tucking into to the delicious food in front of him, filling his plate with one hand, and sampling bites of it with the other.

"Can't wait 'till Quidditch starts," he says to Orlando through a mouthful of food. "This is our year, y'know. I can feel it."

"You did, huh?" He's a little jealous about that. His parents won't buy him a broom and Ray's stupid summer job didn't leave him with enough money to buy his supplies and a new broom.

Orlando's spent more than he should on it, but he couldn't stand his old one anymore. "It's a brand new Firebolt!" His eyes are sparkling. "My aunt had a fit when she found out, but it's my money, and by George, I wanted it!"
