There's a line in Passion Pit's "Make Light" that goes
"Oh, I'll not be told "No," to "No More"
What the hell does that mean? If I say, "No More," you'll tell me, "No," and I won't allow it? What? I don't know if the official lyric reads this way, but if you google for lyrics, all the lyric sites contain this reading of that line.
Originally, I first heard it as
"Oh, I'll not be told not to no more."
As in, "I was told not to." But no more. It resonates, yes it does.
