John, I know the trial was complete bunk by our standards, but being flippant doesn't help.
But if they had gotten exiled to an uninhabited planet, John and Rodney could just spend their time screwing like bunnies and Ronon and Teyla could have beautiful and highly lethal children.
The trial was complete bunk, but certainly not without cause. I do wonder if punishment was the point, or if what they really wanted was to bring the expedition further into Pegasus politics and a joint fight against the Wraith. I could draw all kinds of interesting parallels with US foreign policy (if bombs count as policy) under the current administration, but I really don't have the time. Let's just say I wish a tactic like the coalition used could actually work in the real world.
