Riddick had been keeping to the alley ways and the shadows after getting into a few scrapes, he was sure that there were probably a few guys lookin for him by now. But then again everyone had seemed like they were out for a fight anyways. Especially right where the crossings were, he had laughed at how the guards had been distracted and how easily he could have slipped by if he wanted, but then he didn't have business back uptown; not yet anyways.

Ahead there were voices, gruff men that had obviously been in a skirmish probably had something to drink as well. That wasn't what got his attention, rather it was the scent of a woman. He had his face covered with a rag, the hood of his shawl pulled over his head as he stood in the shadow of a building, before she gets too close though he simply opens his eyes, she didn't look like she belonged in this place; let alone the slums like this.

"Wouldn't go that way if I were you. Things might get a little rough."

Anathema had almost walked right on past him; had intended to, even, as hurriedly as she could without making herself so obvious. It was generally a good rule of thumb to avoid strange men holed up in strange alley ways if it could be helped, and in a city like this the advice seemed just as sound as ever, if not more so.

It was a little harder to accomplish when he actually spoke up, and she couldn't stop herself from slowing down and give him a curious look.

"Thank you, but I'll be all right." And that seemed to be the end of that, but after a small pause she hesitantly continued. "Though....how rough would you mean, exactly?"

It was easy to tell when someone was uneasy around you, sensing fear was something Riddick had become good at over the years as well; hell more often than not he enjoyed others being afraid of him. "Considerin how much they've had to drink, a lot worse than some strange guy gettin some shut eye. Pretty woman like yourself would attract the wrong kind of attention with that crowd."

After repeatedly making sure that the guards couldn't see him, Isaac made his way over the wall and then carefully climbed down into the Poor District. He wasn’t thrilled about doing this, or sneaking around, especially since he stuck out like a sore thumb, but he had promised to help Anathema find her book. So he’d help the best he could.

Still, as he looked around, he hoped they found the book soon. He really didn’t want to stay here long. He wasn’t used to this District and in all honesty, despite the fact that it wasn’t the worst place Isaac had seen in his life, it didn’t look particularly welcoming. Not that he really found any of Icarus to be welcoming, either.

Isaac sighed and started heading towards the gate, deciding to keep his helmet on until he met up with Anathema. Now all he had to do was find her.

"She said she'd be by the gate...right? This would be easier if my RIG's Locator still worked..."

It was a good thing he was such a hard man to miss. It had taken her some time to actually find the gate again - she hadn't gotten lost at all, she had just taken her time exploring the district as thoroughly as she could - but when she spotted the familiar suit, Anathema started to hurry over, looking more than a little relieved; just met or no, finally there was a friendly face. So to speak.

"Mr. Clarke?" Though once she got closer, there was some obvious curiosity shining through, too. That....really was some suit, now that she could really get a look at it....

“Yeah, it’s me.” Isaac nodded, looking around the immediate area. When he looked back, he noticed her curious expression. It was familiar enough to him. Same look he and the other engineers used to get when they got something brand new to play with. “Uh,” he began, figuring he should address this now. “If you’re going to ask how this suit works…I don’t exactly know.”

He shrugged again. “Truth is…I don’t even know what it’s made out of. Pretty sure it’s a security suit and engineers like me typically didn’t get work on these things.” He knew that probably created more questions than answers, but he didn’t see much reason to lie this time.

“Any idea where to start looking for your book?” He figured a quick change of subject might keep some of those questions from popping up.
