People often mistake concentration for annoyance when it comes to Chloe and her general demeanor. At the moment, she's both.

This isn't going right, she can just feel it.

They've lost Jack Bauer and it's all her fault.

The phone rings. Thousands of miles away, Michelle watches network traffic and sunlight streams through the window.

Chloe grabs her bag in one hand and feels for the phone.

"Hello?" It would be nice to be home. Easier.

"Chloe? It's Michelle." She says unnecessarily. "CTU is completely in the dark." A slight smile as she looks at the steady graph.

But there's another reason she's calling and she takes a breath before continuing. "Have you heard from the team?"

"No." Chloe fumbles with her laptop. "I'm glad CTU doesn't know anything." She can't let anxiety get the better of her, at least, not within earshot of anyone.

Michelle turns away from the computer and stands, folding her arms over her chest. "How long ago did they go in?"

"Twelve minutes." Chloe pulls the feed to the front and watches closely. A van approaches, about five miles out.

"There's a van approaching."

Shit.

She breathes out and gently reprimands herself. Twelve minutes and she's worried. But it's hard to stay calm when two of her best friends and the man she love are in danger.

I should be there with him.

"There's what? No, that's impossible. We haven't picked up any communications -- " she says quickly, turning back to her computer, feeling powerless. She can't pull up the satellite imagry from her location and Chloe's monitoring the communication channels.

"You have to get them out of there." She knows that there's a ten minute time delay and that it could already be too late. By the time they saw the cars it was too late.

Please let them have heard the approach and escaped --

"The vans aren't there at the point I'm seeing. They've still got some time before-"

Silence on Chloe's end.

Waiting is about all they can do now.

"Chloe, what are you seeing?" She almost demands.

"Nothing. They aren't out yet, and the vans...."

Beat.

"The vans have arrived at the prison."

"Dammit," she whispers and rubs her forehead lightly. "Do you think the van's for Jack?"

"I- don't think so... there are three, and now they've seen the guards that were knocked out. They're going inside."

The one thing Chloe's in charge of, and now everyone's probably dead.

She wants to hang up the phone and pretend that they never started this conversation and wants to scream at her to do something but she knows that they're both helpless in this situation.

"Who else is with Tony and Chris?"

"Someone named Sharpe, from Milliways, Chase and Behrooz Araz."

She's surprised that Behrooz is there, but doesn't comment on it. "Do we have any idea what's happening in there?"

"I can't get a read on what's going on inside, no."
