G.I. Joe fangirling post

I’ve been wanting to write a post about my old flame, G.I. Joe since last year, but what I was thinking was, “Hmmm - will it be interesting to anyone?” But now I think I have enough reason to write one, since:

Interesting post! I once have a Sergeant Slaughter bought at (then) newly opened Toys City right in my area. It was the most awesome GI.Joe character. It was one of my favorite action-figure of all time.

I once had a GI Joe submarine. It was pretty rare at our country at that time, and cost quite a lot. I was very proud of it but I lost it when we moved around a couple of times :(

you probably already know this, but Bay was planning on doing a movie about GI Joe. but after Iraq (2k3) Hasbro chose to do a movie on Transformers instead. ANYWAY, I wish Barbie would just marry a GI Joe instead of wait aimlessly for Ken to propose. I'm glad she dumped Ken in the end. =)

And it's nice they have covergirl, they had a lot of girly transformers too. but none in the movie. =)

Wah sayang saya ndak begitu perhatian sama Transformers. waktu kecil nonton sih di TV Malaysia, lucunya yang dalam bahasa Jepang wekekekekeke.

oh gitu toh ceritnaya kenapa film GI Joe baru muncul sekarang? kayaknya juga bakal diubah banyak tuh, jadi organisasi internasional sekarang, bukan lagi pasukan elit AS kayak dulu. ga tau juga deh beneran jadi gitu apa ndak.

Found you via google. I too loved the original GI-Joe series by Sunbow, and got into the Marvel GI-Joe comics. My favourite characters were Flint, Lady Jaye, Hawk, Duke, Roadblock, Stalker and Shipwreck ( ... )

Hi Jazzypom! Sorry I just got the time to reply to your comment right now. I've been really busy these past three weeks!

I agree with what you say about Scarlett. Yes, I do think that she's cool as a woman and a soldier, but I dislike to see her relationship with Snake eyes. Or with Duke. And I didn't know either until I read in Wiki that Flint had married Lady J, but she died protecting her husband! That must be very saddening :(

Yes, GI Joe cartoon is a rare thing to find in the world of American cartoons. I really crave to watch it again!
