I never imagined it would be this big…
If you read my previous entry about last Saturday (thank you if you did), you’d find that vanessa-kudu was meeting two men for some business talking. Probably you’d recall that Vanessa is my partner in crime - we have a joint project called ‘Kimidori’ that features characters named Damar and Kubo.
And - well, probably it’s too early to spread news about this, but I think I’d like to keep a record about it to remind myself of how far dreams can spread their wings and fly.
In short, there would be a distro named Kimidori.
My, Vanessa must have been a very good talker. In one afternoon it was all arranged. She would be some kind of head-designer for the distro; I’d work behind the screen as usual (it’s convenient to stay in the shadows, it’s cool there!). Damar and Kubo would be icons of the distro - appearing in ads, leaflets, etc. The distro could sell the comic and merchandise. The distro could cooperate with Splash to sell merchandise. And we could work with Splash to sell Kimidori wallpapers through the project with Telkomsel. And I thought it would be great if the distro sold doujinshi, so Indonesian doujinshi would be available all year round. And we already got a partner to do the background art.
OMG. It’s all so - I dunno. It’s a big catch. I have to work my arse off for sure but I wouldn’t mind. Vanessa said this must have been arranged by God since it all came together in so short a time, in so fitting a situation. Well, remarks like that always make me grin for some reason, that must be my science education, but she’s right: it’s just so wonderful. We could realize our project into something that we never imagined before. We could help talented people that haven’t got the chance to show the world what they’ve got. We could cooperate with the people that we love. (For a start, Mata Kelabu would be heavily revamped to accommodate Kimidori.)
Just - just wish us luck. It would be very kind of you to support us, even with a prayer or two. Will be updating about this when I have news. In the meantime - keep you dreams. Live your dreams.
