So I came home one night recently to find my roommates and a few friends gathered in the living room preparing to decorate our christmas tree. Now this tree had appeared in our house one day along with some boxes of ornaments and a couple giant tins of popcorn. (I found out later that Shaun had brought all of this stuff over from his parents' place.) I had resolved to myself that I was not going to touch this tree, so that when March rolled around and it was still sitting in the living room, brown and undecorated, I could claim no responsibility and avoid taking part in the (eventual) clean up.
Normally I avoid taking part in Christmas tree decorating like the plague. I think this stems from being forced against my will to assist my dad with decorating our house in BR for Christmas and decorating and taking down the tree when I was younger. This time I actually enjoyed it. We had the 99x Alternative Christmas CD in the stereo, Jow had the Guinness flowing and basically everyone in the room was trying to keep me from touching the glass ornaments and the tree in general, out of fear of my field of entropy. But assist I did and a good time was had by all.
Here are the results of our first pass at decorating the tree:
I actually thought this was pretty cool, but others wanted to go with a more "traditional" decorating scheme.....here's the final results:
Abby was supposed to be in the bottom of this picure, but apparently Emory students do not possess enough technical knowhow to operate something as complicated as a digital camera.
Anyhow, to those I won't get to see this year, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. To my friends in Baton Rouge that I have not seen in some time, I will be attending the BIRTHDAYCHRISTMAHANUKWANZAKA bash at Ben's place this Thursday, so you should all come there and I will (drunkenly) wish you a Merry Christmas in person. =)
P.S. - What are we doing for New Year's?
