INHABITING THE WORLD

Here is a nice list of characters and monsters you will be running into;

Individuals;;
Frobozz: A statue in the library of a very handsome and very naked man. He hasn't even a figleaf to cover his shame (although 'shame' is hardly the right word. Perhaps 'pride' is more appropriate?). Despite being rooted at his feet to the pedestal, he is quite an animated and extravagant marble statue. But be wary, he may lead you astray because for him, every day is opposite day.

A greeting from Frobozz

I welcome ye guest, most ungraciously to my abode.
I beg lend an ear, heed my words, and do what you're told
The attic's below, the basement above
I speak only truth, see,
For it is lies that I love.

Have you heeded thus far? Do you now understand?
Now please ask a question, for I won't lend a hand.

The Pale Man: There's always a banquet at the hotel, but it's only at night this terrifying creature partakes. He sits still and silent at the head of the table, the only thing on his plate a pair of eyeballs. His presence brings a deafening silence to the hotel room, and the beautiful frescoes of springtime scenes of fauns and virgins are replaced with detailed depictions of this monsters exploits.Feasting on children, skinning his victims and devouring them alive, you may pay a heftier price than a few pounds gained for that midnight snack. Leave the food alone though and he'll leave you alone.

Nurse Merrytyme: A kindly old nurse you'll meet at the asylum during the day. She's quite friendly and helpful, with a sunny disposition and rosy cheeks. She has laughter lines around her eyes.
And when you meet her at night, she's the same lovely lady as she tears into your psyche and admits your electroshock therapy.
"Oh dear, oh dear. It seems you have a few more issues to work out. Lets just zap them away, why don't we?

Charon: He's only visible to the dead souls on the ship, as he takes you back to the library island where your body has been repaired and gently laid out on the dock for you to return to. He is a bony individual and cowled in black.
However, he's quite polite in a sad, lonely sort of way. He'll attempt to make jokes or puns, though with his 'dead'pan nature, they seem to fall flat.

The Big Bad Wolf: He's why mum's and dads everywhere tell their little girls and little boys not to talk to strangers.
Where are you headed? Would you like some candy? You don't want to know what he's feeding you.

Harmless creatures and monsters;;
The Grue: is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the worlds. Its favorite diet is either adventurers or enchanters, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its horrible fear of light. No grues have ever been seen by the light of day (or light at all), and only a few have been observed in their underground lairs. Of those who have seen grues, few ever survived their fearsome jaws to tell the tale. Grues have sharp claws and fangs, and an uncontrollable tendency to slaver and gurgle. They are certainly the most evil-tempered of all creatures; to say they are touchy is a dangerous understatement. This is why we suggest you sleep with a light on. At least a small light. A night light? ...Candle?

Dust Bunnies: The Dust bunnies are small, black, cute, in the form of itty-bitty bunnies, and burrow in obscure corners and under furniture, and defend their territory by multiplying. Due to the nature of dust bunnies, they multiply actually by dividing themselves in half. They can clog a passageway in seconds, filling the air with dark, suffocating particles. Static electricity and lemon-scented sprays are their only natural enemies.

Flamingos: Common garden animals.

The Jabberwock: A fearsome and frumious adversary. Like a dragon in a appearance, the Jabberwock is much more cunning and looks ever so frabjous in his fine waistcoat and spats.
Be wary around mirrors, lest his claws catch you.
