On Friday I was doing a diaper change and thinking how much I was going to enjoy going to Pre-School as an assistant rather than being a Toddler 3 Assistant because I really looked forward to not having to change anymore diapers. As soon as I thought that the director of the Daycare came into the room and asked me if I would be comfortable taking over the T3 room... I assumed she meant that because Kim was downstairs with half the class and we had twenty students she wanted them split up and wanted me to stay upstairs rather than join the rest of the class after diaper changes, I shrugged and said "sure." and she continued by explaining that rather than going into Pre-School on Monday as an assistant, Kim would, and I would go in T3 as a head teacher. Yes ladies and gents, my boss demoted someone and then promoted me to their spot, while I feel like crap about taking her job, I have been complaining about how she doesn't do any real work anyway, and she doesn't seem to mind. A demotion doesn't come with a cut in pay in this company, however according to the PreSchool teacher a promotion does generally come with a not insignificant raise.
Well okay, to clarify, it's not that she doesn't do any work, it's that all of the projects etc that she does are the exact same every time, and how with a class that age you need to mix things up and work with them on their ABCs and number etc, so that they're ready for preschool as by the time they hit preschool their teacher should be able to say "okay, everyone take a blue crayon" and they should know what that means. *sigh*
I hope I do a good job though, I don't want to get promoted to get demoted like a week later.
