what the hell? he goes 'women are writing really aggressive songs about guys' where the song talks about beating the shit out of a guy's car. he then says guys wouldn't be allowed to get away with aggressive lyrics, giving an example of a lyric about having a 'size 12 jordan up her ovaries'. domestic violence isn't funny... and that's not being PC, it's being humane. who gives a shit if he meant it to be taken seriously.
uh, i'm not trying to attack standup comedy. i realize it's based on taking the mickey out of everyone so as to keep people laughing at themselves and others. i think it's completely important to keep that around, laughing is vital

I'm only butting in because I find your parenthetical argument irrelevant.
I'm not condoning or condemning the little clip this thread is in reference to (although I would honestly like to be enlightened as to where to draw this line he crossed and why), but I wouldn't recommend appealing to frames of reference to prove your point of view.
That is to say, I could just as legitimately argue that YOU aren't a man, and therefore you will never understand where WE'RE coming from, either; and to take it further, as you did: because you don't have my male frame of reference on this issue, you'll fail to understand the topic entirely, thus rendering every claim you make invalid. I am right. But I won't make this argument, because I find it absurd. Perhaps it looks different flipped around?
(the issue being flipped would incite that) i'd never understand where 'you' (men) were coming from in 'your' doing what? defending the need to make jokes about beating women into submission? sure, i guess you could go down the path of censorship, being where the 'why and where to draw the line?' question came from- and i'm not able to argue that. i guess it would be censorship to restrict such, uh, points of view?

That's all I have to say, I think.
